What is the AlumierMD skin peel?
We use the exclusive AlumierMD range of skin peels each with the perfect blend of medical grade skincare ingredients. You can also compliment your clinic treatments with our full stock of AlumierMD skincare homecare products, for optimum results.
Chemical peels improve skin texture and firmness, decreasing fine lines and wrinkles. Acids are applied to the skin to lower the PH, which loosens the connections between dead skin cells, including exfoliation and stimulating new cell growth. This process causes superficial layers of the skin to peel off, revealing a smoother more radiant complexion.
Peels also even out skin tone, improve acne-prone skin and reduce pore size appearance. They work by causing intentional damage to the epidermis and/or dermis with the goal of stimulating new tissue to improve skin texture and tone.
Most beneficial ingredients for the skin tend to degrade or denature when placed in the low pH of chemical peel formulas. With that scientific information in mind, AlumierMD peels use only the pure acids; anti-ageing, antioxidant and brightening booster ingredients are applied post-peel in our Brightening Accelerator keeping all components effective.
As peels remove the outer dead layers of the skin, the booster ingredients are better absorbed when applied post-peel. Our multilayer process is customised according to your skin profile and concerns.

Is it safe?

The exfoliation you will experience varies depending on skin profile. AlumierMD chemical peels are light- to medium depth, and are formulated to reduce irritation and redness.
Dr Claudia will discuss the best peel which will suit your skin and expectations choosing the correct treatment for your concern. A course of 6 is always advised as a minimum for best results.
Who is it good for?
AlumierMD peels can be used to treat a multitude of skin imperfections such as fine lines, wrinkles, pigmentation irregularities, mild to moderate acne, superficial acne scarring and texture problems.
What can I expect during treatment?
A peel is a relaxing procedure. Your face is double cleansed then a brightening or clarifying solution is applied to the skin using a soft brush. The next step involves the application of glycolic acid which can make the skin feel tingly. After 5 minutes this solution is neutralised by the application of a refreshing spray. The skin is then moisturised, and SPF applied before the treatment is completed.
Aftercare
It is common for the skin to look slightly pink after a peel but this usually settles after a few hours. Your skin will be more sensitive to the sun, so it is essential to use SPF50.
When will I see results?
We suggest a course of 3-6 treatments for the best results. Results vary from person to person. Some might experience dryness, roughness or slight irritation and mild peeling. It is important to note that you do NOT have to experience peeling to get results. You will see and feel the difference in your skin after just one treatment, but your skin will continue to improve with repeated treatments.
Who shouldn’t have a peel?
If you suffer with an autoimmune disorder, have active cold sores, diabetes, cancer, thyroid disorders or if you are pregnant or breast feeding. a peel should be avoided. Roaccutane should not have been taken for 6 months prior to a peel and you should stop using topical retinol for 2 weeks before a peel.
