What are dermal fillers?
Dermal fillers are used to replace lost volume in the face. As we age, our fat pads reduce in the face so the skin droops causing lines from nose to mouth and below the mouth as well as a sagging jawline. By injecting the correct filler into the face volume can be restored, lines reduced and a more youthful appearance attained.

What areas can be treated?
It is essential that each patient is accurately assessed before having filler as we prefer to treat the cause of the wrinkle/fold than simply fill the fold. Cheek filler is often the most effective treatment and by volumizing the cheek it can minimise nose to mouth lines and jowls.
The aim is always to create a fresher more youthful version of yourself and not make you look different.
Lip fillers are popular, however at Dr CP Aesthetics we believe in a natural look and will not inject more than 1ml of product at a time - remember it is far easier to add filler than to remove it.
Fillers vary in strength and some fillers can be used or hydration whereas others are thicker and give stronger definition. Often a combination of fillers is used to create the optimal effect.
What can I expect during the treatment?
During the treatment a small needle is inserted into or under the skin depending on the area to be injected. The results can be seen immediately yet continue to improve over the course of two weeks. The injections can sting slightly but most people don’t feel they need any anaesthetic. Lips are very sensitive, so we do insist on a topical anaesthetic cream prior to lip filler treatment.
Is it safe?
We only use premium fillers that have a proven track record for safety and so you can rest assured that they are perfectly safe. Treatment is not recommended in pregnant or breast-feeding women and those with active skin infections such as cold sores.
Are there any side effects?
The premium fillers used are hypoallergenic gels so allergic reactions are extremely rare. Side effects are uncommon but can include bruising, tenderness and redness of the area. There is usually a bit of swelling post procedure but this settles within a few days. Some people can be prone to bruising and we do recommend that you avoid anti-inflammatories (aspirin and ibuprofen) for 7 days before the procedure unless they are medically necessary.
Aftercare
Immediately after the procedure it is important not to touch the area or apply make up for 24 hours to minimise infection. As with most aesthetic procedures we advise no alcohol for 24 hours as this can worsen any bruising.
Price List
Dermal and lip fillers are charged per syringe.
I use Allergan’s Vycross range, Juvederm®, Voluma®, Volbella® or Volift® which are all 1 ml syringes. Each type of filler has it’s own indication, lip enhancement, volumisation or treatment of fine lines.
The cost is from £180 per syringe:
There will be a reduction for multiple syringes used at the same consultation
I would be happy to advise on the estimated number of syringes required at an initial consultation however I rarely administer more than two syringes at a time.
