What is Biotin?
Biotin is a vitamin that contributes to healthy hair growth. It is believed that Biotin improves the protein, Keratin, that makes up the hair, skin and nails.
Biotin is a type of vitamin B complex that is found in food including nuts, egg yolks, fish, bread, pork and cauliflower. Biotin isn’t produced by your body or stored in your body for long either, so Biotin deficiency isn’t uncommon. A deficiency can cause brittle hair and hair loss.
Who can have it?
Many people take Biotin supplements to improve hair and nail growth, but when they are taken orally they are not completely absorbed by our bodies. The Biotin injection has been successful in increasing Biotin levels faster in many patients.
How many treatments are required?
We will discuss this at your consultation.
How is it given?
Biotin is injected into the muscle of the upper arm and is relatively painless.
What are the benefits?
Many patients see improvements to the health and growth of their hair. Biotin can also improve your skin and nails.
