Plasmage® is a new and exciting machine which uses plasma energy technology which enables results with little downtime and no surgery.
Plasmage® is the only plasma machine on the market to use fractional plasma, meaning that the device will not go above the preset temperatures during treatment.
The device creates a series of small dots on the skin which lifts, tightens and contours the skin. Plasmage® ionises gas from the air creating a small electric arc which delivers the treatment to a very small area without affecting the surrounding skin.
Plasmage® is safe for all skin types and can be used for rejuvenation of skin.
It is especially good for scarring, fine perioral lines and excess skin. Plasmage® can be used to remove skin tags, warts and verrucas and reduce stretch marks.
By far the most exciting use for Plasmage® is excess upper and lower eyelid skin. Prior to plasma therapy the only option for hooded eyelids was surgery better known as blepharoplasty. The effects seen with Plasmage® are comparable to surgery but can be done in 30 minutes without the need for hospital visits and scarring.
An anaesthetic cream is applied to the area to be treated for at least 20 minutes. You may feel a brief tingly sensation during the treatment.
Results can be noticeable immediately after the treatment but optimal results are seen 8 weeks after the treatment. Many people only need one treatment but some may need up to three to achieve the best results. Treatment can be repeated again I the future if necessary but in general the results last 1-2 years.
Why choose Plasmage® over traditional eyelid surgery?
Some swelling is to be expected immediately after treatment and usually peaks the next day before settling down. The treatment causes small carbon scabs like dots on the skin. These scabs must not be picked and will fall off by themselves 5-7 days after treatment.
It is essential that the treated areas are kept clean and dry following treatment and that you protect the treated area from the sun. Wearing sunglasses is advised for eyelid treatment and a high protection sunfactor must be used for 6-8 weeks before any sun exposure.
